Colon Cleansing Elimination Diet
This colon cleansing elimination diet is a guide to help you eat properly for your cleanse by cutting out various food groups in steps. By following this guide, you can learn how different foods affect your body while cleansing at the same time. It is different from the
4 week cleanse
in the sense that there is more freedom to go at your own pace, yet you still have guidelines. This colon cleansing elimination diet is termed so, because of the process of slowly eliminating foods in order for your body to adjust to the process. This is better for people who are sensitive or have health issues. This diet is also commonly used to identify allergies. When cleansing, it is important to note that the colon cleanse is really a total body cleanse. This colon cleansing elimination diet does help the entire system cleanse by easing the burden on your digestion. You may recognize by the time you get to the end of the cleanse, you are practicing a form of food combining. I find food combining works extremely well for any colon cleansing diet. The following colon cleansing elimination diet is numbered in weeks. You do not have to do each for a week. You could make your “week” be only 4 days long, if you feel you’d like to intensify quicker. On the other hand, you could do each step for 2 weeks, if you are more comfortable working that way. However, please note that if you take too long for each step, you run the risk of “forgetting” to move on as you create a new comfort zone. Keep in mind this is the colon cleansing elimination diet listing the food only. You should be incorporating your own supplements to help your total body cleanse. Read each week carefully to ensure you don’t miss anything. Week 1 Eliminate all junk food snacks from your diet this week. This will include junk drinks like soda and “fruit juice” with corn syrup or artificial sweetener. Replace with a glass of water or a piece of fruit. Even if they are called “low fat” or “no trans-fats” and so on, eliminate them. Your goal is to do a colon cleansing diet therefore you need to give your digestion a rest. Choosing water or fruit is your first step. Week 2 Eliminate all processed foods this week. This generally means no foods made from a box or can. Also, be very careful if eating out. There are choices in restaurants such as a piece of fish and steamed veggies on the side. Foods like mashed potatoes, pasta salad, or garlic potatoes can be processed with milk-fats, trans-fats or chemical enhancers such as msg. When buying fruits and veggies, it's best to get them from the produce department of your grocery store, or the local farmer’s market. Keep track of your meals, making sure you eat no more than 4 times a day. Week 3 Eliminate all milk products. Milk creates excess mucus in your body. This is part of the mucoid plaque build-up that you are trying to clear from your system. Week 4 Eliminate bread this week. Bread is in a category all it’s own because many people are very dependant on it. You’ll miss it, but you’ll also be surprised at how good you’ll feel by not eating it for awhile. Bread will slow down or even stop your colon cleansing diet. Also, if you haven’t eliminated pasta in the processed foods week, do it now. Nothing stops a colon cleanse diet quicker. Week 5 Eliminate all other grains and starches this week. Although many grains are healthy, all grains slow down your colon cleansing diet. Starches will include white potatoes and corn as they are more difficult to digest than most vegetables. So this week we will eliminate them. Keep your chin up, you're almost there... Week 6 Eliminate all meats this week. This includes chicken, turkey and fish. Although not a meat, also eliminate eggs if you are still eating them. If you are concerned about protein, eat sprouts or have a superfood drink. These are packed with protein. Try to eat only 3 meals a day at this point. If that leaves you hungry, drink herbal teas, water, superfood drink or diluted fruit juice.

Week 7
By now you should be down to eating just vegetables and fruits. If you are drinking coffee or tea, now is the time to drink only herbal teas and water. For now, you can eat your veggies lightly steamed, in soup, or raw. Your goal is to eat only raw veggies and fruit three times a day. This is your ultimate goal for your colon cleansing elimination diet. You can continue this fruit and vegetable only diet for a week or 10 days. More than this may leave you feeling depleted. After your colon cleansing elimination diet, if you are up to it, you can go on to do the 7 Day Intensive Cleanse because you have prepared your body well. It is really a fast but you consume drinks with either bentonite or superfood every 1 1/2 hours. If you choose this route, be flexible. Even though it is termed the 7 Day you can choose to only do it for 3 days to see how it goes.
