Health, Fat Loss, Weight Loss Blogs - Who Are We to Believe? The focus of this article is to bring in some perspective about how to find the "right" program, whether it's a program for health, healing, fat loss or weight loss. Today I’m focusing on blogs that I have recently read about health, fat loss and weight loss. Most are written by people with no credentials, but they are reviewing the materials they come across. The most well-received ones are the general diet and exercise, which is a good approach, albeit in my humble opinion, not complete. Of course my favorites are always dismissed as being “crazy,” “unproven,” and “without scientific research.” I’m talking about any programs that involve cleansing. You see many programs these days incorporating cleansing techniques, but only a brave few will take it to extremes to include fasting or even herbs. Even weight loss and fat loss programs are talking about it – but of course they would never call it “cleansing.” So - why is everyone so stuck on “scientific research?” It is good for a some general information and perhaps to help create foods supplements for people who need extra nutrition. But many times science only proves what people already know, like vegetables are healthy for you. Once people find a concept they like, science comes along to see what exactly is in the vegetable that makes you healthy? They want to know how they can pick it apart, isolate the nutrient, and make it better – and patentable. Remember that scientific research also gave us artificial sweeteners and low fat baloney. Scientific research told us that we needed to eat mostly breads and starches (the old food pyramid) and that no fat at all was best for us. It also gave us the many drugs on the market that were later recalled for a very bad side effect: death. Scientific research brought us white bread with no nutritional value. So why is everyone still looking for scientific research when it comes to our health? I think a better approach to any health program, even weight loss, fat loss or to regain health, is to learn how to take care of yourself without drugs and/or surgery as much as possible. I also believe that the best approaches will be recognized when it is realized that our bodies do get over-burdened with toxic waste. It is a fact that perchlorate has been leaking into our drinking water for many years. You don’t have to drink the tap water to benefit from this thyroid-suppressing toxin, either. It is also a fact that the CDC in America has been doing long term testing on adults and consistently finds an average of at least 168 different known harmful toxins in the average person’s bloodstream. It is a fact that most recent studies done on newborns born in 2005 had an average of 200 toxins in their cord blood – this means they had this many toxins in their blood before they were even born! We know that if we consistently eat junk food that our bodies will gain weight – proving the theory of doctors that the body will eliminate or detox what it doesn’t need. So if our bodies cannot efficiently eliminate excess food instead of gaining weight, then why would chemical toxins be any different or easier for the body to remove? I am no doctor or scientist. But I am a Holistic Practitioner, Nutritional Counselor, Colon Therapist, and continue to research and write about holistic health practices. I have never been obese. But I was very sick with Hepatitis C at one time in my life and no longer have it. I was overweight, at some points in my life by around 40 pounds, and in my 20’s many people thought I was 40+. Now I’m 46, my weight is stable at what I should be for my height (137 pounds at 5’8”). And – I am often accused of being in my early 30’s! I know that this is due to cleansing, herbs and other holistic practices – and moderation and balance in my life. (Please don’t think that I don’t ever eat or drink things that are supposed to be bad for me!) In addition, I have worked with hundreds of clients that share the same experiences. For example, I was told that my Hepatitis C went away because it was just “spontaneous healing,” according to the doctors. I always reply – not true. I worked very hard to heal. And another thing about spontaneous healing; it’s funny that the 1-2% of people that heal “spontaneously” are in the holistic circle. In fact of all the clients that I have worked with that had Hep C, ALL of them got better. I didn’t heal them, and no doctor healed them. But I did teach, as did other practitioners or even alternative doctors they used. Ultimately, they healed themselves – but mainly it was a path of learning and trying new things. I have worked with many clients who had learned how to take care of themselves and were able to heal from many types of cancer, hepatitis, lupus, arthritis, and other types of cancers. What they all had in common was cleansing, juicing and herbal or food supplements. I don’t tell you this because I want to make a buck. And most holistic practitioners don’t work with people to get rich. The reality is that you don’t see many holistic practitioners living in million dollar mansions and joining country clubs – a common phenomenon among medical doctors. Now I’m trying to infiltrate the weight loss community and spread the word about cleansing, weight loss and health. It is too bad that these have been separated by the mainstream, to be treated as if each is supposed to be a different program. But they are not. Learning how to cleanse properly can help you achieve a proper weight and regain lost health. It can teach you how to stay youthful and energetic into what is referred to as our golden years. Now – to be a rebel, I have of course listed below my favorite “radical” health, weight loss and fat loss programs. They are good, they are radical and they are real. I feel better now – thanks for listening.
Top Secret Fat Secret - This is basically an excellent and thorough parasite cleanse. One of the most complained about in the weight loss or fat loss industry.
Eat Stop Eat - This has the health and fitness community up in arms. He advocates.... fasting! Only brief periods, though, but still effective at helping one overcome food addictions. It is almost comical how most blogs are firing back and forth about "scientific research," since there has been plenty of research in the pros and cons of fasting. Personally, I used to think I could never fast - but now I know better. How could millions of Mormons be wrong?
Master Cleanse Guide Book - Talk about fasting! One day is enough, but for 10? That's why this guide is a good idea - to help you fast without hurting yourself. Fasting is an excellent technique, but not for the novice.
Raw Food Diet - I love the raw food diets and recipes - but only temporarily in my case. I always think of when Demi Moore used a raw food program for a month before she did the film "Charlie's Angels." She looked great! (And don't think only plastic surgery can take the credit, for living in California you see surgeries that aren't followed up with good health practices doesn't look good!)
5 Tibetan Rite for Cleansing exercise - I always saw clients progress faster when they used mild exercises that were designed to help the body open up and allow everything to flow.
