Triglycerides are a necessary fat that we all have and need. It is used by our bodies as a steady source of energy for muscles. However, as with anything, too much of a good thing can be hazardous to your health.

In fact, high levels of triglycerides can double your chances for heart disease even if cholesterol levels are normal! Here are some daily dosages to help you keep your body balanced and triglycerides under control:

  • Flavonoids found in apples and grapes, as well as coumaric acid in berries and citrus slow the production of triglycerides in fat cells. Eating these foods on a daily basis can help lower levels by up to 83%.
