Yogurt is one of the more amazing health foods. Not only packed with nutrients, but good bacteria as well. The nutrients found in yogurt range from calcium, phosphorus, B12, B5, B2, zinc, potassium molybdenum and protein. This alone would make yogurt a healthy and nutritious food.
However, many of you probably know that yogurts amazing benefits lies more in the friendly bacteria. Because of this, research has been done and has concluded that this good bacteria strengthens the immune system and can even increase your life. One study even showed that it may prevent vaginal yeast infections.
Eating yogurt daily stimulates cellular immunity. The cells in particular are your white blood cells, including T cell lymphocytes and neutrophils. It is important that these are in good working order since this is your body’s defense against bacteria, virus, yeasts and even parasites. It is also critical in preventing the development of cancer.
Add to all these benefits the fact that yogurt lowers bad cholesterol and raises good cholesterol. And eating yogurt on a regular basis has been shown to reduce body fat. This could have something to do with the good bacteria strengthening digestion. As I’ve always said, strong digestion means a strong metabolism, which is naturally more efficient at burning excess fat and waste.
Not all yogurts are created equal. Be sure your has live bacteria in it and not too much sugar, for the most health benefits.
